Assofranchising Italiana - the Italian Association of Franchising
Assofranchising Italiana - the Italian Association of Franchising - founded in Milan in 1971, is the historic trademark of the organization representing Italian Franchising. Assofranchising enjoys important, strategic, national and international connections: among the 20 international associations which make up the E.F.F. - European Franchise Federation - Assofranchising is the only Italian association belonging to it and is, among other things, also a founder member. It is associated to the W.F.C. - World Franchise Council - and Federdistribuzione and indirectly to the Confcommercio.
There are three membership categories registered with the Association:
- FULL MEMBER (EFFECTIVE MEMBER FRANCHISOR)
- PROVISIONAL MEMBER (PROSPECTIVE MEMBER FRANCHISOR)
- HONORARY MEMBER
Assofranchising represents, defends and promotes the economic, social and professional interests of the associated Franchising networks through their Franchisors, in a context of strict respect of the principles contained in the Ethical Code of the Association itself.
Franchising is considered to be the "Distributive business format with the best future in Europe" and, in our country, it represents a constantly developing reality. It is a system of collaboration among Companies which are legally and economically autonomous and independent from each other, which stipulate a contract among themselves: the Franchisee joins the distribution network of the Franchisor, maintaining his own managerial and organizational autonomy but pledging to use the Franchisor's know-how share his commercial policy and image. This innovative method is involving the most varied commercial sectors and is continuously increasing.
Since its foundation Assofranchising has always distinguished itself for its close network of relations with the Institutions and other bodies or associations with similar interests.
To its Members the Association gives services, among which advice, business contacts, concessions, stipulation of conventions, use of the Assofranchising label and many other information and relations services. Periodically the Association organizes debates, round tables and conferences to publicize and discuss the topics and problems concerning Franchising. Assofranchising favors relations with the other European associations of the E.F.F. in order to share information and achieve common initiatives. There are various and frequent opportunities for Members to meet each other and exchange ideas and experiences. Assofranchising also promotes the study of economic, legal, fiscal and commercial problems of particular interest to members.
The Association also provides an intense informative editorial service and Members are constantly kept updated about activities and initiatives by the Assofranchising journal "The Franchising Journal" and by the Internet site www.assofranchising.it. Since 1993 the Association has edited the publication "Annual Survey of Franchising" in which are contained informative cards on the main Italian Franchisors, the sector's macroeconomic data, important advice for those who wish to start a Franchising business and much other useful news on this successful business format and on Assofranchising.
Finally, Assofranchising has a "Directory of Professional Advisors, Consultants and Experts", where Companies, individual firms or persons who supply goods and/or services to Franchisor Members can register in addition to Companies, individual firms, persons, bodies, associations and institutes interested in the circulation and qualification of Franchising.
